The Atlas Shrug

Here is my latest project. I've been working on it (and a few others like it) for a new media course. The idea was to create a "moving image" (similar to the stereoscopic effect). The image itself is a digital painting inspired by some of the recent artists I've been looking at as well as some landscapes. By putting each element on a separate layer I could shift them around to give an effect of 3d space. I wanted to name the piece after the ship in the mid-ground, so the title comes from the tune I was listening to as I was finalizing the image. Turns out "Atlas Shrug" by Khemehk is connected to "Atlas Shrugged" a sci-fi novel by Ayn Rand about a dystopian United States where individuals are no longer allowed to create and the profit motive leads the the collapse of society.
